Nine players were given a one-match suspension yesterday after last weekend’s six BOV Premier League games.

Tarxien Rainbows were the worst-hit as they had three players on the suspensions’ list.

Wesley was suspended following his dismissal for two bookings in the 1-1 draw against Hibernians in which the Brazilian striker scored Tarxien’s equaliser.

Owen Bugeja and Matthew Tabone will also miss Saturday’s match against Qormi after being handed a one-match ban for four yellow cards.

Brazilian wing-back Marcelo Dias, sent off in last weekend’s derby, has been ruled out of Saturday’s top-of-the-table clash with Birkirkara.

Valletta, under fire after succumbing to their fourth defeat in eight games, will be without Luke Dimech for their must-win match against strugglers Naxxar Lions.

Naxxar have lost defender Andrew Scicluna who was sanctioned after his red card in the 3-3 draw against Żebbuġ Rangers.

Żebbuġ players Clifford Gauci and Javier Diaz Serrano will play no part in their team’s match against Pietà Hotspurs after both collected a fourth booking.

Clifford Gatt Baldacchino, dis-missed in Sliema’s 4-1 defeat of Mosta, will miss the match against Balzan on Sunday.
