Nine players have been given a one-match ban after last weekend’s BOV Premier League matches.

Tarxien Rainbows have three players on the suspensions’ list as Brazilian Wesley, who was sent off in the 1-1 draw against Hibernians, Owen Bugeja and Matthew Tabone, both banned for four yellow cards, will miss Saturday’s match against Qormi.

Hibernians will be without Marcelo Dias for their top-of-the-table clash with Birkirkara after the Brazilian wing-back received a one-match ban following his sending-off in last weekend’s derby.

Defender Luke Dimech has been ruled out of Valletta’s match against Naxxar Lions who, for their part, will be without defender Andrew Scicluna who saw red in the 3-3 draw against Zebbug Rangers.

Clifford Gauci and Javier Diaz Serrano will miss Zebbug’s important game against Pietá Hotspurs after both were suspended for one match.

Clifford Gatt Baldacchino, sent off for two yellow cards in Sliema’s 4-1 victory over Mosta last weekend, will skip Sunday’s match against Balzan.
