Wotte: Mark Wotte has left his role as Scottish Football Association performance director. The Dutchman joined the SFA in June 2011 to oversee the governing body’s performance strategy across all age groups. Wotte said: “I am proud to have been the Scottish FA’s first performance director leading this nationwide project and I leave safe in the knowledge that this great football nation is on the rise again.”

Cuadrado: Fiorentina winger Juan Cuadrado is expected to sign a new contract in the coming days, with an agreement reached on wage demands, reports said yesterday. The Colombian winger was linked with a move to either Manchester United or Barcelona in the summer, but by late August entered into negotiations with the Viola on an extension. The Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Cuadrado and the club are now close to agreeing terms on a new contract.

Street attack: Celtic player Lukasz Zaluska has been attacked in the street. The goalkeeper was targeted in Ashton Lane in Glasgow’s west end in the early hours of Monday morning. Police would not confirm reports that another Scottish Premiership player was involved in the incident. Zaluska signed for Celtic from Dundee United in 2009 and has mainly been the club’s second choice goalkeeper.

Djukic: Former Valencia boss Miroslav Djukic has replaced Albert Ferrer as coach of struggling Primera Division club Cordoba. A statement confirmed that the Serbian tactician, 48, was due to meet his new players yesterday after signing a deal running to the end of the season with the Andalusian outfit.

Levante: Levante have sacked coach Jose Luis Mendilibar with the side sitting second bottom in La Liga following Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Real Madrid. “The board appreciates the professionalism that Jose Luis Mendilibar has shown while at the club along with his coaches Inaki Bea and Toni Ruiz, and we wish them luck in the future on both a professional and personal level,” the club said.
