A couple walking towards a beautiful three-tiered fountain in St Philip Garden, Floriana, yesterday, as the locality opened all its gardens to the public. Also known as Ġnien tal-Ġeneral, the scheduled garden used to form part of the once private section of the Argotti Botanical Garden. Its main feature is the basin fountain, erected in front of the Palace in Valletta during the reign of Grand Master Emmanuel Pinto de Fonseca in 1751. It was later removed to clear the Main Guard for military purposes and transferred to this garden.
