Driving on the streets of Malta has gone from bad to worse in recent years.

Long traffic jams, double parking all over the place and an absolute disregard for the rules of law and order are all factors that contribute considerably to this state of affairs. In this situation, traffic policemen have become redundant, seemingly non-existent, and public transport is still in chaos after so many years.

Discipline is non-existent among bus drivers, who are all over the road.

All this is happening when the Maltese citizen had been promised a clean and healthy environment on the buses and some polite people to drive them.

Politicians are still sound asleep after their long, long summer holidays.

A year and a half since the March 2013 election, the Malta Tagħna Ilkoll (Malta for all) promise of giving everything to everyone has only resulted in unemployed people being engaged with the public service. However, when it comes to traffic chaos, politicians seem not to give a hoot.
