Dubai’s Burj Khalifa has bagged another Guinness World Record with its new tourist attraction: the world’s ‘highest observation deck’.

Previously the Canton Tower in Guangzhou, China, held the record for its 488-metre-high deck.

But At the Top, Burj Khalifa SKY – as the new deck on level 148 of the world’s tallest building is officially named – is perched a dizzying 555 metres above ground level.

From the outdoor terrace visitors can see far out over downtown Dubai, then recover from any jitters in a premium lounge.

“We are doubly delighted to clinch the Guinness World Records title that adds to the glory of Burj Khalifa,” said Ahmad Al Falasi, executive director, property management of Emaar Properties at the launch event.
