Lions Club Mdina has helped Maltese NGO Dr Klown by obtaining a €2,900 grant through the Small Initiatives Scheme. The NGO started working at Mater Dei Hospital in 2011 with the aim of bringing smiles to hospitalised children and helping make their stay more bearable.

This NGO is made up of a committee of eight members, a group of 20 Klown doctors and other volunteers who help with the running of the organisation. This year, two Belgian Klown doctor trainers, Jan and Geert, were invited to Malta to train the local Klown doctors.
