Railway workers across Germany have started a two-day strike, stranding millions of passengers.

The action, which started yesterday, comes during half-term holidays.

A third of long-distance trains are still running, but many travellers have still seen their holidays spoilt.

National rail operator Deutsche Bahn made a new pay offer on Friday, but the union rejected it and pressed ahead with the strike.
