The chaotic traffic situation in Malta cannot go on. We have reached a point of no return – over 300,000 cars plus public buses and private coaches cannot converge safely and efficiently on our roads. Tourism will suffer while the Maltese population cannot tolerate this traffic saturation any longer.
I appeal to the Transport Authority and whoever else is in charge of the situation to devise other additional means of transport besides improving the state of the roads and introducing new bus routes. This tragic state of affairs, which has long been coming, must be alleviated at all costs.
I was truly impressed by the monorail I had seen in Australia a few years back. Can the experts delve into this sort of technological enterprise for a solution of our traffic-clogged roads?
