An activity focused on weaving and related traditions was organised by Heritage Malta in collaboration with local weaver Alda Bugeja (top left photo, first from left) at Ta’ Kola Windmill, Xagħra. Bugeja provided hands-on demonstrations of weaving on a traditional loom, and how cotton and sheep’s wool thread were spun in centuries past. A number of Bugeja’s students also took part in the event. The activity was animated by a group of locals playing traditional instruments, while visitors to Ta’ Kola Windmill on the day enjoyed some local food delicacies.
