Nine Maltese students from various schools took part in a three-day series of workshops in Cyprus on sustainable development and journalism together with 70 other students and teachers from all over the world.

During the event, the students attended sessions on journalism by local experts and worked in groups to produce articles, photographs and short videos.

Some students conducted interviews with local people as part of their assignment.

The students also visited several sites around the island, including Unesco world heritage sites such as Kourion.

The event was supported by the Litter Less Campaign, which is run internationally by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) and represented locally by Nature Trust Malta.

The participants had taken part in Young Reporters for the Environment (YRE), an FEE programme that promotes journalism education for sustainable development.
