Seventy-four Caremalta employees were presented with City & Guilds certificates after successfully completing courses leading to the diploma and specialist diploma.

Certificates were distributed to the participants by Parliamentary Secretary for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing, Justyne Caruana, in the presence of Caremalta CEO Natalie Briffa Farrugia.

To date, 326 Caremalta carers have obtained these qualifications, which entitle them to work as care workers anywhere they wish.

Thirty-five carers were also awarded certificates enabling them to work as senior carers.

For the first time, another course was organised for prospective lead carers, a top position within the care department of every facility run by the company. Five candidates completed this course.

Briffa Farrugia spoke about the company’s efforts to maintain the highest standards of care offered to its residents. She pointed out that such a level of service would not be possible were it not for the efforts of its employees.

CareMalta will be starting new City & Guilds courses in healthcare this month and in November. Another course will start early next year. Those interested should call Angele Darmanin on 2258 4200.
