The eighth edition of Lejl f’Casal Fornaro is being held in Qormi tomorrow. It is organised by the Pinto Band Club Youth committee in collaboration with the Qormi local council and the Malta Tourism Authority.

This cultural event is designed to promote Qormi’s long-standing traditions and folklore, but is specifically focused on the town’s bakeries.

Delicata Pjazza Regina wines will be on offer together with traditional Maltese hot and cold dishes prepared by Maypole Ltd.

The organising committee has planned several cultural, social and entertaining activities for people of all ages which include various exhibitions, different stages with live drama, Maltese traditional songs including għana, band marches and performances by top local talent.

Tonight, President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca will inaugurate the 13th edition of the Bread Festival, which is being held in St Paul’s Square. Highlights include a huge Maltese cross made of various types of traditional Maltese bread and a competition for the best biskuttini tar-raħal. All food stands will be somewhat pertinent to the Maltese loaf and all proceeds from this activity will be donated to the Community Chest Fund.
