Malta, through Transport Malta's Civil Aviation Directorate, recently concluded an air services agreement  and signed a memorandum of understanding with Algeria that supersedes an earlier memorandum signed in 1982.

The agreements were finalised with Algeria' director of civil aviation and meteorology Smain Youcef Azzi, during his visit at the authority’s corporate office in Marsa.

Charles Pace, on behalf of director general George Borg Marks, said the agreement was of beneficial to Air Malta since it was opening more airports for the airline.

Mr Azzi hoped the MOU would foster new economy between the two countries.
