With reference to the report of October 8, under the title ‘Rewarding theft of public land is madness – Busuttil’, Armier Developments Limited (ADL), in its own name and on behalf of the committees of Armier Boathouses Owners, declares that, at this stage, it would be imprudent on its part to make any public comment on the merits of negotiations that, from time to time, it holds with the government about the continuing recognition of the status of the Armier boathouses.
Although fully aware of the misinformation on superficial issues such as that of the installation of smart meters in the boathouses, ADL clarifies that the boathouses have always been offered the regular supply of public utilities, electricity and water, under various governments for a considerable period of time over these last 40 years.
Besides, prior to the latest smart meters pretext, the preceding administration had already, on various occasions, previously substituted power and water meters as had been necessary.
Indeed, until the recent past, mechanical power dial meters had been substituted and changed to more modern and electronic ones.
Agreement with the government had been reached and repeatedly renewed in the past about the regularisation of the boathouses that were built prior to the 1992 planning development law enactment, with government recognition.
ADL is committed to resumingits unstinted cooperation with the government in office to ensure the full implementation of agreements that are reached.
