I refer to a recent article urging people to ask for generic medication rather than brand names because generics are cheaper.

That is all well and good but even generics are much more expensive in Malta than in other countries.

A case in point was my letter of some weeks ago wherein I stated that a box of generic Esomeprazole 40mg in the UK costs £7.25 whereas here it cost €23.50.

It’s the pricing of medicine in Malta that needs to be seriously looked at.
