After a visit to Malta, both my friend and I agree with the article written by Frank Salt.

What he said about the buses was very good, however, why is overcrowding allowed? We were often subjected to overcrowding, pushing, shoving and bad manners in general.

Drivers encouraged the cramming of passengers. To us, this ranked as problem number one. Likewise, we were appalled at the amount of litter we saw all over the island and, especially, dog poo. Surely there are regulations demanding that dog droppings are collected.

We have visited Malta many times and have observed the litter problem getting worse.

Visitors/tourists are not the problem; it is residents who turn a blind eye.
