According to a One Poll survey commissioned by online travel retailer Bravofly, a cheeky one in seven people search for deals when the boss isn’t looking.

Another third use their work computer to browse and book and one in 10 Brits admitted choosing a trip during their lunch break or work ‘down time’.

This shows customers want to be able to access the best deals and prices wherever they are

Those living in the West Midlands and London are most likely to use their lunch hour (18 and 17 per cent respectively) to get business or personal breaks planned.

Another 16 per cent rush through a cheeky booking when the boss is away, with almost a third of us (30 per cent) using a company laptop to browse.

And it seems men are the sneakier sex, with more male employees admitting trawling for flights during work time (20 per cent versus 12.5 per cent of women) and more than a third using their office computer – compared to 27 per cent of women.

According to the research, which gathered the opinions of 500 adults across the UK, only 43 per cent were prepared to wait until the evening to look for the best deals, with just 22 per cent holding back until the weekend.

Bravofly recently launched its own booking app, partly in response to the news that a tech-savvy 15 cent of us make reservations from our mobile and 26 per cent use a tablet.

The appetite for flights seems to be growing too as more than two thirds – 69 per cent – make up to five bookings a year for themselves with a third (32 per cent) splashing out £300.

A Bravofly spokesman said: “The way people look for and book flights and other travel services is changing.

“What this shows very clearly is that customers want to be able to access the best deals and prices wherever they are – and however they choose to book.

“Our new app makes it easier than ever to find the best prices and book key trips from your handset or mobile.”
