Burgundy wines from Maison Louis Jadot were the stars of a well-attended wine and dine evening organised by the wines and spirits division of Attard & Co. Ltd.
The evening at Essence restaurant at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands, was hosted by the Maison’s export manager, Philibert de Vregille, who introduced the guests to the French wine-growing region of Burgundy, the Louis Jadot winery and its wide range of Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays.
The guests enjoyed a five-course meal with each course matched with a Louis Jadot wine.
One of the highlights of the evening was the tasting of the Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules 2008, a fine example of a premium Burgundy Pinot Noir.
The Beaune Premier Cru Clos des Ursules is a full, firm and rich wine that perfectly balances elegance and power.
It has a slightly earthy bouquet and a long, lush finish and will age well in a cellar (10 to15 years).
During his stay, de Vregille also conducted a Louis Jadot wine tasting at Sistina Wine & Co. in Gżira and a wine-pairing dinner at Vini e Capricci in Gozo.
