The most popular performance-related reward and incentive is individual bonus, with 84 per cent of respondents to the 2014 Misco survey saying they prefer this reward tool.

The survey on salaries and benefits – the 29th edition – found that the shortage of skilled and professional labour in a number of areas continued to put pressure on wage inflation.

“This is influencing the supply side by increasing expectations and contributing to an active labour force which is more willing to consider changing jobs and career prospects. These increases are featuring most in customer service and call centre related job positions,” report compiler Ritienne Xerri said.

The performance of the financial services and i-Gaming sectors kept the pressure on remuneration packages

This report covers over 80 categories of personnel and was compiled over nine months of intense research. This year’s edition also features 40 new job roles.

“During the past 12 months, management positions have experienced an increase in the total remuneration packages in a labour market that is still creating new employment opportunities.

“This growth can also be attributed to the performance of the financial services and i-Gaming sectors which kept the pressure on this year’s increase in remuneration packages,” she said.
