I have always regarded members of the teaching profession as being people who are there to set standards by giving a good example to their students.
My two sons attend a boys’ Church school in Gżira and I am simply dismayed at the fact that one of them was given what is termed as a pink sheet because, in the school administration’s opinion, his haircut was not in conformity with school regulations. How can the school adopt such an approach when some of its male members of staff have unorthodox hairstyles? This is a clear case of two weights and two measures.
Either way, discrimination is rife and I am appealing to the Curia and Education Division officials to see to this matter and stamp their authority in order to establish a fair and equal treatment for all individuals forming part of this particular school.
