Henry Pace writes:

My family and I are full of grief and sorrow because I lost my dearest wife and mother of our four children.

Yet, we rejoice as her soul has been surrendered to the safe hands of Jesus Christ. We are sure that her great faith has put her on the way to eternal life. I must say that her faith was an example to me and all our family. Vivien was truly a convinced Catholic woman. The way she prepared herself for this day is the greatest satisfaction for all our family.

As we mark the 48th year of our marriage, Vivien and I vowed in front of the Blessed Sacrament that we take each other, “to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death us do part”.

These 48 years have proved to be a great experience in our married life. The Lord God gave us four children – Anthony, Alex, Loranne and Vanya. Both of us did our utmost to bring them up to the best of our abilities. However, we did not do this by ourselves.

We always resorted to Divine Providence and to the Blessed Virgin for continuous help in our daily life.

This was not all that Vivien did in her life. Her last outing away from our home was to attend the Legion of Mary presidium meeting. As a member of the Legion of Mary, she worked resolutely to evangelise others in the streets and homes. With great enthusiasm, she always looked forward to go abroad and do this work in other countries, in line with what the Lord had toldthe apostles.

Her great devotion to the Blessed Virgin was remarkable throughout her life. She had special devotion to St Pope John XXIII and St Pope John Paul II.

We will be missing her so much. I can say that Anthony and Josephine, Alex and Denise, Loranne, Vanya and Kenneth, our young ones, Martina, Francesca, Matteo, Michelle and Adrienne, her sister Carmen, in-laws, relatives and friends were in full community, praying to the Lord Jesus Christ and the Divine Mercy in the most difficult times of her short illness.

Last but not least, I would like to thank Bishop Sylvester Magro for his continuous spiritual support which he extended to us.

Dear Vivien, we remained together throughout, as we had vowed to each other we would do “until death us do part” but now you will not be with me anymore.

Thank you, Vivien.

Lord God give her eternal rest.
