CALLEJA. On October 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, VICTORIA of Sliema, aged 65, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Victor, her daughter Roberta and her husband Patrick Buhagiar, her dearest grand­children Nicole and Matthew, her sister Antoinette and her husband Alfred Fiorini Lowell, her brother Charles Houlton and his wife Victoria, her sister Elizabeth Cassar and her husband Godwin, her brother Joseph Houlton and his wife Carmen, her in-laws Sylvia and her husband Lawrence Zrinzo, Antoinette and Mario Abela and Monica and Michael Sammut, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2pm for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CALLUS. On October 8, at St Catherine’s Home, Attard, Fr PHILIP CALLUS, aged 89, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his sister Mary, his sister-in-law Ann Callus, widow of Edmund, his nephews and nieces, Joseph, Gaetano, Mary, Ugo, Daniel, Peter, Catherine and Margaret and their spouses. The funeral leaves St Catherine’s Home tomorrow at 1.30pm for St Mary’s parish church, Attard, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at the Qalb ta’ Ġesù Cemetery, Żebbuġ. Special thanks to the sisters and staff at St Catherine’s Home for their love and dedication. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

FARRUGIA. On October 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMELO, widower of Filomena, aged 82, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Doris and her husband Charles Borg, Carmen and her husband Victor Calvagna MD, his grandchildren Stephany and Adrian Dalli, Bernard and Maria Borg Bileci, Francesca, Rebecca and their respective boyfriends, his adorable great-grandchildren Michela and Matteo, his brother George and his sisters Filomena and Irene, all of Australia, his brother-in-law Emmanuel Schembri and his wife Tessie, and sister-in-law Agnes Vella, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Friday, October 10 at 3pm for Mosta Rotunda parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm, followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares Foundation and the Archbishop’s Seminary, Tal-Virtù, Rabat, would be greatly appreciated. Special thanks to the staff at the Holy Family Home, Naxxar, for their love and dedication, and also to the doctors and nurses at Mater Dei Hospital. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

LIA. On November 7, ALFRED, ex-PC, known as Id-Dakky, of Senglea, aged 72, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Vanna, his children Manuel and his wife Carmen, Charles and his partner Graziella, his grandchildren Gabrielle and Jodi, his brothers and sisters-in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 7am for Our Lady of Victories basilica, Senglea, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 7.45am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
