A man in Australia is believed to have killed, then cut up, and maybe even cooked his girlfriend.

Local media say the body parts of a 24 year old transgender woman from Indonesia were discovered inside the apartment of Marcus Volke. Some of the body parts were in a pot on the stove.

Neighbours had complained of a foul smell coming from the apartment. When police investigated, Volke fled the scene.

He was later discovered, dead inside an industrial garbage container from an apparent suicide.

The whole thing left friends and neighbours shocked.

Local media say Volke had been working a chef.
