Further to Denis Darmanin’s informative reference to various regimental titles of the King’s Own Malta Regiment (The Sunday Times of Malta, September 21), I would like to point out another pattern, which although mentioned briefly in his article, was not depicted.

This is the one shown here, and to the best of my knowledge, it was worn by the officers of the Regiment on battle dress.

Regarding the other regimental title with just the letters KOMR embroidered in white letters on a red background, I have it from a good source that quantities of these titles (probably never worn), along with cap badges and metal shoulder titles, were sold after the disbandment of the regiment to fund the KOMR/KOMRM memorial in Floriana.
