There are many education systems that have been tried, such as grammar schools, comprehensive schools, streaming, trade schools and banding. They all have their drawbacks. What we need is a brand new system, an individual system.

Under the present systems, each child is tested by a general system of exams and those who fail are branded as failures. Each child should have a personal curriculum based on what they want to study and what career they want to take.

After learning the bare basics such as how to use a tablet and a calculator, each child should be helped by guidance teachers to plan a curriculum.

When a child tells a guidance teacher they would like to learn how a mobile works, the guidance teacher would tell the child that they need to study topics 15-30 in physics and topics 20-25 in electronics, for example.

In one’s school certificate, there should be two different systems of assessment: what topics the student has studied and which were mastered.

Students should socialise together in sport, dance and ethical studies. Let’s hope that schools and universities will become a place of enjoyment for each and every student.
