A World War II shelter in Pjazza Żjara tal-Madonna, Għarb, has been restored by the local council.

The restoration involved clearing debris from the shelter, making it more accessible and installing a lighting system and floor decking.

The project was supervised by architect Edward Scerri and inaugurated by mayor David Apap Agius.

The facade of Għarb parish church, the square itself, Taż-Żejt church, San Dimitri chapel and Ta’ Sdieri historic bridge have also been restored as part of the Għarb Cultural and Touristic Conservation Project, funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development and the government.
