Seventeen works by photographer Ritty Tacsum are currently on show at the Lily Agius Gallery in Sliema.
Tacsum was invited to hold an exhibition by gallerist Lily Agius following the photographer’s participation in the summer collective that was held at the same gallery last year.
From the beginning, the idea was to have a type of retrospective show – a cross section of Tacsum’s work, including figures and nudes, architectural landscapes and multiple exposures, which the photographer is know for.
“Resumé was a title specifically chosen by the curator, Lisa Gwen, as an attempt to encapsulate the variety of work, subjects and emerging styles prevalent in my work. This exhibition is literally my calling card, my CV, you could say,” Tacsum says.
The biggest challenge in putting together the exhibition, she adds, was shortlisting the actual final pieces that were going to be exhibited. “The gallerist, the curator and myself had different visions on which pieces to exhibit.Until we came to the final decision it was a bit of a struggle. Even though there were a few pieces that I would have never shown, I think they worked well together, so I’m happy with the selection.”
Resumé runs until October 18 at Lily Agius Gallery, Cathedral Street, Sliema.
