Notte Bianca is in full swing this evening, with thousands of people having gone to the capital to admire its many attractions, despite forecasts of bad weather.

Of particular interest today is Portes des Bombes, open to visitors for the first time, and an arrangement in Independence Square, opposite Auberge d'Aragon, which enables people to ring the bells at the nearby Carmelite church and St Paul's Anglican Cathedral.

As in previous years museums are open free of charge. Other sites open for visits include the Palace and parliament , government offices and churches.

Artistes have put up installations in varius parts of the city and there is a Maze in St George's Square.

Several historic re-enactments are being held.

Note Bianca has been organsied by the Malta Council for Culture and the Arts and V-18.
