Herrera: Manchester United mid-fielder Ander Herrera sustained a fractured rib during Saturday’s 2-1 victory over West Ham. The 25-year-old Spaniard has scored two goals in four matches since joining United from Athletic Bilbao. Herrera will miss the game against Everton on Sunday.

Sagbo: Hull striker Yannick Sagbo has joined Wolves on loan. The Ivorian striker, who joined the Tigers from Evian last summer, scored four times in his first season, including a Wembley strike in the FA Cup semi-final against Sheffield United. But he has fallen down the pecking order and is yet to appear in the Premier League this term.

Luiz: PSG defender David Luiz said he came close to signing for Barcelona over the summer, meaning he could have been playing against, rather than for, the French giants last night. “It’s true that they came to feel me out a few times and it looked so good,” he said. “But eventually I realised that the team that really wanted me was PSG.”

Probe: Broadcast regulator Ofcom has been asked by Virgin Media to open an investigation into the way the English Premier League sells its TV rights. Virgin Media claims fans are forced to pay over the odds to watch games on TV. Brigitte Trafford, Virgin Media’s chief officer, said: “The rising cost of Premier League live broadcast rights means UK fans pay the highest prices in Europe to watch football on TV. Virgin Media has asked Ofcom to investigate how the rights are sold.”

Napoli: Napoli will be without defender Juan Zuniga and midfielder Jorginho for tomorrow’s Europa League clash at Slovan Bratislava. Both players have failed to recover from respective muscular injuries sustained during Sunday’s 1-0 triumph at Sassuolo.
