Enemalta refers to Lino Briguglio’s letter that was published in Times of Malta on September 17.

Our distribution network technicians have inspected the street indicated to make sure that the overhead electricity cables in this area are safely secured to the relative fixtures and that there is no redundant wiring which can be removed.

No Enemalta redundant cables were identified. The electricity cables in this area were adequately secured at the recommended safe height.

Enemalta seeks to make sure that the country’s dis-tribution network, including overhead cables, is safe andwell maintained.

Our electricity distribution teams are instructed to identify and remove any unnecessary cables, brackets and other disused equipment during the course of their daily repair and maintenance operations.

There are also cases where we collaborate with local councils, business organisations, individuals or other government entities to relocate overhead cables to underground culverts.

We encourage individuals who notice any unsafe cables, disused wiring or brackets or other irregularities in the distribution network to contact our customer care team on 8007 2244 or customercare.emc@enemalta.com.mt.
