The government engaged 3,700 workers, or 10 workers per day in the past 13 months since it took office, the PN said today.

The figures emerged from official statistics and belied comments by the Finance Minister 

The PN said it was not true that the employment figures had spiked because of reclassification of workers for statistical purposes as Prof Scicluna had said, and since the minister knew how to read statistics, this meant that all statements by the government about the economy were put in doubt, the PN said.
