Collective punishment is unjust. Prisoners in Soviet Gulags were collectively punished for one prisoner’s misdemeanour. In Nazi Germany, Jews and anyone caught helping them was collectively punished and unspeakable atrocities ensued.

Palestinians in Gaza are also victims of collective punishment by the Israeli forces because they are resisting the siege on their homes. These are all war crimes against vulnerable people, which is why the fourth Geneva Convention states that no persons may be punished for an offence they have not personally committed and, thus, collective punishment is prohibited.

What is the closure of the hunting season if not a war crime?

The decision made is a direct provocation against the (armed) hunting lobby.

Hunters are not collectively responsible for their actions. Hunters have a right, a human right, to fire their shotguns on everything that flies, be it birds, graduation hats and aeronautical vehicles until their rights are respected – and that is no joke.
