Paper by FiftyThree

Perfect for visual learners, Paper by FiftyThree allows you to sketch and outline projects, doodle notes and create diagrams. And if you’re suddenly hit with inspiration, just take out your tablet and draw your ideas.

Dragon Dictation

What Paper by FiftyThree does visually, Dragon Dictation does with sound. If you want to remember something but don’t have anything on which to write, just take out your mobile, fire up Dragon Dictation and it will write down whatever you say. The developers say that it is 99 per cent accurate. Moreover, with this voice-recognition app, you can also write e-mails with it and update your Facebook profile.

Examtime

Exams are coming up and you’re in a panic to start revising. Examtime will help you draw up a revision timetable. Moreover, Examtime is a good revision assistant as it offers great features like mind-maps, flashcards, notes and quizzes.

Khan Academy

Toshi Finance

This app isn’t exactly new: however, it is still one of the best finance apps around. Toshi Finance helps those students who are on a budget (which students aren’t?) to keep track of their expenses and calculate how much money they have left from their monthly budget. You can also divide your finances into expenses and income.

Wunderlist

Remembering everything you need to do can be a mammoth task. Wunderlist jogs your memory by organising your tasks, lists and due dates. You can also organise your lists according to project: then share your lists and tasks with friends or with your study group.
