As a Maltese missionary in Jerusalem for the past 55 years I would like to heartily thank the Mission Fund in Mosta and their benefactors for the help I received for my mission here, where we strive continuously to build peaceful bridges between Christians, Jews and Muslims.

Following the latest conflict between Israel and the Palestinians there is a constant cry for help, especially from Christians who are being persecuted because of their faith. Hospitals and schools in Gaza have to be reconstructed.

The repercussions of this conflict are also felt very strongly in Jerusalem, the city of pilgrims, that has become like a ghost town. This means many employees lost their jobs and have no means to keep their children at school.

Your generosity is an expression and a gesture of giving us support to maintain our Christian presence in the Holy Land. We constantly receive requests from poor people who need special medical care, medicine or financial help to educate their children in Christian schools.

Your generosity is a testimony of your love and great support to the Christian community in the Holy Land and of our community in particular.

In this way we are strengthened to continue to work courageously ‘in the vineyard of the Lord’. Your help will surely benefit especially those who are in urgent and special need.

I appeal to readers to continue helping the Mission Fund, 72/3 St Joseph Flats, Triq il-Farinal, Mosta, MST 07, through donations, used stamps and used telecards.

Donations may be made online or by direct bank transfer to one of the following accounts: HSBC (Account No. 0611 9744 8050); BOV (Account No.163 0079 8019); APS (Account No. 200 0082 0762); or Banif (Account No. 000 8796 3101).
