• The Friends of the Sick and Elderly in Gozo are organising a charity sale today in the football ground near the main car park, Victoria, from 7am to 1pm. A fee of €10 per car space is payable on the day.

• A festival of local food and crafts will be held today from 8.30am onwards at Victory Square, Xagħra. Various folk groups will also take part.

• The Gozo Horse Racing Association is organising autumn heats at Xhajma Racing Track for donkeys and ponies. The first heat will be held today at 1pm while the final races will be on October 12. To register call Anton Pace on 9922 7854.

• The feast of Jesus of Nazareth is being celebrated in Xagħra today. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will lead Pontifical Mass at 4.30pm in Jesus of Nazareth church, with the participation of the collegiate chapter, Xagħra clergy and other priests. The Maranatha and Santa Klara choirs will animate the Mass. The celebration will be followed by a procession with the Holy Eucharist, accompanied by eucharistic anthems played by the Victory Band of Xagħra. After the procession there will be benediction in the church square. The external festivities will end with a wine-tasting competition and entertainment.

• Fr Hayden Williams will lead a prayer meeting today at 5pm at Għajnsielem parish church.

• Rio 2 will be screened at the Don Bosco Oratory, Victoria, today at 6pm. The Book Thief will be screened on Saturday at 8.30pm.

• Europa Donna Malta is organising the first edition of its ‘Look Good Feel Good’ fashion show today at 6pm at Villa Fiorita, Marsalforn. Entrance tickets are available against a donation of €15 for members and €20 for nonmembers. The price includes a three-course meal, the fashion show and entertainment. Gozitan breast cancer survivors will take part in the fashion show as models. Tickets are available from the Gozo Breast Cancer Support Group call 9945 2482.

• Masses at Ta’ Pinu sanctuary will be said today at 6.15, 8.30, 10 and 11.15am and 5pm, followed by the recital of the rosary and Eucharistic benediction.

• Festivities marking the nativity of the Virgin Mary come to an end today with a concelebrated Mass at 8am led by Mgr Mario Grech and a concelebrated Mass led by Mgr Joseph Cauchi at 5pm in the church dedicated to her in Pjazza Savina, Victoria. The latter Mass will be preceded by adoration in front of the Blessed Sacrament and benediction.

• The feast of St Theresa of the Baby Jesus will be celebrated on Wednesday at the Carmelite Sisters’ chapel in Kerċem. Mgr Carmelo Borg will concelebrate Mass at 6pm, followed by a hymn, antiphon and eucharistic benediction.

• The Sacred Heart Minor Seminary Ladies’ Circle will hold its monthly coffee morning on Thursday at 9am in the Catholic Action Centre, Victoria. Tickets are available from members and the school.

• To mark the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, a musico-literary evening will be held by Sinfonia at the cathedral, Victoria, on Friday at 8pm, with the participation of Da Camera String Trio and soprano Kelly Cassar under the direction of Mro Mario Vella Cordina.

• The Gozitan Graduates Movement invites graduates and members of all professions in Gozo, including couples, for Mass in Maltese on Friday at 8.30pm at St Augustine’s church, Victoria.

• A pilgrimage to the Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary and a Mass organised by members of Il-Fergħa Ewkaristika (Għaw dex) will be held on Saturday. Departure is at 3pm from near the tree at the crossroad leading to Ta’ Pinu. All are welcome to attend.

• The diocesan Eucharistic Move ment is holding a prayer evening at St Anthony the Abbott church, Xagħra, on Saturday at 8pm, followed by Mass at midnight.
