Q: I have paid a deposit to order a specific product but after placing the order I was informed that the product in question is no longer being produced.

The solutions the seller is offering me is either to provide me with a different product and I pay the difference in price or else to refund the deposit I paid.

However, I want to be able to purchase the different product at the price I was originally quoted when I placed my order.

Can I make such request?

A: If the product you have ordered is no longer being produced, the law entitles you to a refund of the deposit paid. No more no less.

The law does not oblige the seller to give you a different product and bear the cost of the difference in price.
