Catering outlets, supermarkets and food importers are among companies that can take part in this year’s special edition of European Week for Waste Reduction (EWWR), themed ‘Stop Food Waste!’

Special focus is being given to food waste reduction this year in an effort to address this major environmental concern, making this initiative an opportunity for companies in the local food industry to showcase their environmental efforts and the results obtained.

Food enterprises may also celebrate EWWR by introducing new strategies that tangibly reduce waste in their operations and communicating these developments during the dedicated week to customers, suppliers, business partners and the public.

Participation in EWWR is free. As an added incentive, WasteServ will award grants and cash prizes of up to €1,000 to the best initiatives. Winners will also be nominated for the European Waste Reduction Awards, with the chance to win this prestigious European title.
