Sculptor Ġanni Pace will be mounting an exhibition at the Valletta local council premises for Notte Bianca on Saturday.

The Valletta-born artist will be exhibiting sculptures in wood, terracotta and local stone.

Some of Pace’s works, apart from private collections, include three over-lifesize sculptures in concrete at the Paradise Hotel, Ċirkewwa, a terracotta sculpture outside the Millennium Chapel in Paceville, a bronze statue of Star the dog at San Franġisk, a pro-life monument in Naxxar, two statues of St Augustine at St Augustine’s College in Pietà and over-lifesize statues of St Dominic and Our Lady of Fatima outside the parish church in Guardamangia.

Another important work by the sculptor is a monument in hard stone commemorating the Royal Navy Torpedo Depot – for which the same hard stone (żonqor), iron bars taken from the barbed wire and the same torpedo – were used. A dove symbolising peace lies on top of the monument at the Marina Garden in Pietà. This work was carried out with the help of Pietà local council.
