Xewkija Tigers, Nadur Youngsters and Oratory Youths chalked up their second consecutive win to maintain their 100 per cent start to the season.

Champions Xewkija dominated their match against St Lawrence Spurs as highlighted by the 5-1 scoreline.

It took Xewkija only four minutes to take the lead with a spectacular header from Dene Shields.

St Lawrence tried to be more adventurous in their approach but in so doing, they left the backdoor wide open and Xewkija took full advantage to score four more goals.

Six minutes from half-time, Xewkija doubled their lead with a tap-in from John Camilleri.

Shields netted his second five minutes into the second half but, two minutes later, St Lawrence scored their consolation goal through William Barbosa who pounced on a mistake by the Xewkija rearguard.

On 62 minutes, Camilleri put the Tigers 4-1 ahead by lobbing the goalkeeper. Substitute Gennaro Hili rounded up the scoring seven minutes from time following a fine move by Daniel Bogdanovic.

Title contenders Nadur Youngsters found it more difficult than expected to gain maximum points from their match against Sannat Lions.

Nadur pulled off a 1-0 win with the decisive goal being scored by Joseph Grima on 14 minutes.

Sannat staged a good reaction after the break but their strikers were too erratic in their finishing.

Oratory Youths confirmed their excellent early-season form after inflicting a 4-2 defeat on neighbours Victoria Hotspurs.

The Youths shocked their opponents with two early goals, a header by Mark Camilleri (12) and a lob by Thiago Dos Santos (15).

Victoria Hotspurs’ response was sterile and three minutes into the second half, Oratory’s Shaun Attard extended his team’s lead with a stunning shot from an angled position.

Camilleri scored his second on 59 minutes as the Youths all but secured their win. Oratory eased their pressure in the final stages, allowing the Hotspurs to give the score a more respectable look with late goals from Dylan Bellotti (86) and Ferdinando Apap (87).

Kerċem Ajax bounced back from their opening-day defeat to Oratory as they claimed their first points of the season with a 3-2 win over SK Victoria Wanderers.

The Citizens were off to a great start, opening the scoring inside the first minute thanks to a first-timer by Alfons Sanz Ortiz.

On 14 minutes, Kerċem levelled the score with a low drive from Ian Xuereb but the Wanderers regained the lead when Sanz Ortiz converted a penalty four minutes from half-time.

The Wanderers’ task looked to have been made easier when, on 54 minutes, Kerċem were reduced to 10 men after substitute Elton Vella was sent off for a second caution.

The Ajax, however, recovered from this difficult moment to turn the result in their favour with a lob by Andrew Mizzi (65) and a header by Anderson Ribeiro (78).

Division Two

In the matches from the second category, Għajnsielem obtained a 1-0 win over Għarb Rangers thanks to Charlon Tabone’s goal (45).

Munxar Falcons beat Żebbuġ Rovers 4-2. Frank Paul Azzopardi scored a brace for Munxar who also had Stefan Farrugia and Orlando Atzori among the scorers.

Sylvan Galea (5) and Michael Zerafa (13) were on target for Żebbuġ.

Xagħra United and Qala Saints had to settle for a point after being involved in a 2-2 draw.

Qala twice led through a brace by Manuel Buttigieg (21, 43 penalty) but an own goal by Daniel Portelli (40) and Daniel Bartolo’s strike (64) earned Xagħra a point.
