Preparations and rehearsals for the upcoming 22nd edition of the airX Malta International Air are in full swing.
The preparations were today visited by Tourism Minister Edward Zammit Lewis.
The minister expressed his appreciation to all participants from various countries, especially new-comers. He wished all the best to those performing in flying displays and thanked all volunteers and members of the Malta Aviation Society, which form part of the history of 100 Years of Aviation in Malta, which Malta is to celebrate in February.
He appealed to the public to cooperate with the police, Armed Forces of Malta and airport security who would be ensuring everyone’s safety during the event.
Dr Zammit Lewis thanked Malta Air Traffic Services and Malta International Airport for their dedication and endeavour to accommodate all other air and ground commercial traffic without delays while the flying displays will be taking place. He also thanked the Civil Aviation Directorate for overseeing to safety measures.
The minister extended a warm welcome to tourists who are currently on holiday in Malta, especially those who came specifically for the air show, an event firmly entrenched in Malta’s tourist calendar.
