A 27-year-old man from Gzira was today charged in court with the involuntary homicide of a motorcyclist during a traffic accident on the Coast Road in May last year.

Nicholas Schembri, a radiographer, denied involuntarily causing the death of Orazio Mannino, an Italian national during an accident involving his Peugeot 207 and the Italian's Suzuki motorcycle.

The accident happened on the Coast Road at 2.45pm on May 27 last year.

Alan Drago, a medical doctor who was at the Emergency Department when the accident took place, said the motorcyclist was already dead when he arrived at hospital.

The case continues.
