“Useless massacre” is how the transfer of ALE officers was described in last week’s story in The Sunday Times of Malta (September 14). How odd to complain about the transfer of eight PN government-appointed officers, “all Nationalist supporters” save for one, with Labour “party loyalists”.

More of the same, one would say, considering seven out of eight are Nationalist. So what prevented complaints under the previous administration?

What is important is results and no one can vouch for the replacements not being better. After all, Times of Malta, Birdlife, the Committee Against Bird Slaughter and all others of the same breed never stopped complaining about the ALE’s inefficiency and complacency.
