Yellow Pages has changed its name to Yellow and will soon offer customers an e-book version that can be used offline through the brand’s mobile and tablet apps.

The company redesigned its website as well as its mobile and tablet apps to accommodate its new brand identity: Yellow, discover local.

“We chose this name because we want the brand to represent our product which is dynamic, hip and fresh in character, while explaining what the company is all about: local search,” said Yellow managing director Niki Soler.

The name change coincides with the distribution of Yellow’s latest directory. Households and local businesses should expect their free copy of the updated local search encyclopedia in its new full-colour format within the coming weeks.

“Through this rebranding process, we wanted to draw the public’s attention to all our services, not just the physical directory. Through the years, we’ve served as a discovery search tool. We have evolved and quickly adapted to current search trends through the platforms people are using,” said Mr Soler.

Apart from the user-friendly mobile and tablet app, an offline version of the directory will also be available in e-book format on October 1.

The e-book is set out to enable those who are not constantly connected to still have access to Yellow when doing local searches.

It will be available on all iOS and Android systems.
