This weekend, the Assoċjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi (ASMK) will cross the channel to hold an autocross event, the second from its summer schedule, in Sannat.
The competition, sponsored by ASMK and Pasta Poiatti, is being held in Gozo to raise funds for the Arka Foundation as well as to increase the popularity of auto-cross racing on the sister island.
A temporary autocross track is being built by ASMK officials to host the races in Sannat.
Practice sessions for both Maltese and Gozitan drivers will be held this afternoon while the races will run from early tomorrow morning until late in the afternoon.
All participants and spectators will be encouraged to give a donation to Arka Foundation.
The presentation ceremony will be held at the end of the event.
Meanwhile, Shawn Buttigieg and Luke Farrugia are back in Malta after competing in the SuperStreet Bikes competitions, held at the Santa Pod raceway in England.
Both riders featured in the FIM-Europe SSB Championship Cup which attracted over 30 competitors from other European countries.
Buttigieg, in his first experience in the prestigious FIA championship, managed to finish third overall. He is a member of Team Kalanċ Drag Racing team who won the FIA Top Methanol European Championship title ahead of another Maltese outfit, Mr Whippy.
In the coming days, three ASMK motocross riders will travel to Sicily to take part in the fifth round of the FMI Regional Championship.
