Family guy... but would Brad, Angelina and the children really give up the luxury of their yacht to take a trip on the Gozo ferry?

As Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt continue to elude photographers during their stay on Gozo, social media have been awash with spoofs of the actors in the most unusual of places.

The first few ‘pictures’ of the power couple were uploaded by an anonymous Maltese Facebook user last month but have since gained popularity.

“I created the page for fun and made a few edits. I was sure people would start leaving their own pictures and that it would go viral,” the administrator of the Brangelina in Gozo Facebook page said.

It seems they were right as Facebook has been awash with edited photos of the two actors.

From festa frolicking to pastizzi baking, their faces have been inserted into all manner of Maltese backdrops, including a spoof of Brad Pitt as the bus driver whose steering wheel came loose recently.

Although most of the photos were taken as the jokes they were intended to be, a few seem to have got some users hot under the collar.

One edit in particular, which superimposed Mr Pitt on to a village procession, sparked outrage – a number of users called for a public apology over “disrespect” for their religious rites.
