Birżebbuġa Sailing Club recently held a series of races that was followed with the presentation of trophies to the winners of the St Peter’s Regatta, held a few weeks back.

A fleet of dinghies participated in two classes, the Optimist Open and Handicap Class.

Club Race Officers, David Dalli and Claudia Zammit, laid an Olympic trapezoid course in the waters outside Fort San Luċjan.

Six races were held, three on each day in accordance with the ISAF Racing Rules using the Portsmouth Yardstick System for the Handicap Class that was made up of Lasers, RS Fevas, a Topper Vibe and a Miracle.

Trophies were presented to the winners by Selina Pace, Environment and Quality Manager at Malta Freeport Terminals Limited, the official club sponsors.

The Optimist race was won by Francesca Zammit followed by Patrice Pace and Anna Tel.

Matthew Wallis (Laser Radial) was the Handicap Class winner in the racing series.

Andrew/Mikela Mifsud (Topper Vibe) were second and Daniel Dalli (Laser Radial) third.
