The Malta FA Refereeing Department yesterday announced that an agreement had been reached between Director of Refereeing Adrian D. Casha and his counterpart Rune Pedersen, the Head of Refereeing at the Football Association of Norway, for a first-ever referees’ exchange between the two countries.

This evening, Elite Referee Trustin Farrugia Cann, assisted by Elite Assistant Referees Jurgen Spiteri and David Castillo, will be in charge of the Norwegian Division One match between Baerum and Ranheim at the Sandvika Stadion, in Oslo.

Only one point separates the two teams in the current standings, as Baerum are on 40 points in sixth place.

Today, Baerum will target the three points to leapfrog Ranheim and enhance their chances of being promoted to the Tippeligaen, Norway’s professional Premier League.

The Maltese match officials will be assessed by experienced referee observers Rune Pedersen and Goggen Holen.

Pedersen and Holen are currently the referees’ and assistant referees’ coaches respectively at the UEFA Centre of Refereeing Excellence course also being followed by Farrugia Cann, Spiteri and Castillo.

For today’s Baerum-Ranheim match, the FA of Norway has appointed Henrick Pettersen as fourth official and Tom Edvartsen as match delegate.
