Zabaleta: Manchester City defender Pablo Zabaleta is confident he will be fit for tomorrow’s Premier League clash with Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium. The full-back limped off during the team’s 4-2 friendly win over Germany last week. Zabaleta said: “It was a hard tackle and I still have some discomfort but it’s getting better.”

Sirigu: Goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu has signed a three-year contract extension with Paris St Germain. The 27-year-old, who joined PSG in 2011, will now remain at the Parc des Princes club until 2018.

Mane: Sadio Mane could miss Southampton’s Premier League clash with Newcastle after work permit regulations delayed his return to the south coast. Saints boss Ronald Koeman has revealed the Senegal forward had to take a detour via Ghana on his journey back to England after scoring in his national side’s 2-0 victory in Botswana on Wednesday. He had to make his stop-off in Ghana to fulfil work permit requirements.

Lacazette: Lyon forward Alexandre Lacazette has signed a new two-year contract, the club have announced. The 23-year-old has scored 42 goals in 154 games for the club after coming through their youth system, earning three France caps along the way. He is now tied to the club until 2018.

Palestine: Palestine’s preparations for the Asian Cup have been dealt a blow with the resignation of head coach Jamal Mahmoud. The 41-year-old quit on Wednesday citing personal reasons. Assistant coach Saeb Jendeya has been named interim replacement.
