Please allow me to refer to Alfred Griscti’s ‘No gridlock’ (September 3) and, to his ‘Bisazza Street’ (July 20). The second piece does not deserve a reply but the photo accompanying his September 3 letter must have been shot this summer (last month) at about 6 pm, going by the sun shades on opposite properties.

I refer also to the article ‘No plans to reopen Bisazza Street to traffic’ (June 8), ‘Pedestrian streets, back gardens and rodent buffets’ by Anne Zammit and Lino Briguglio’s ‘A deserted street’ (June 29). All the photos accompanying them show and indicate the importance of Bisazza Street being pedestrianised: really a deserted street at 11 am, 6 pm and also 8 pm.

Is it worth to have a pedestrian street because there may be four, six or eight people walking in the middle of a road?

Bisazza Street should be reopened for traffic and drivers can then decide which route they prefer to take.
